It's probably the 2d most famous Dark Souls mod (after DSfix, and information technology's been covered by gaming media https://www.pcgamer.com/this-dark-souls-modern-relocates-bonfires-npcs-enemies/) It started out as a simple remix, merely has evolved into something and then much more. Highlights for me including fixing Lost Islieth (yeah), enhancing some of the more lackluster bosses (Bed of Chaos has been completely remade), restoring alot of cut content (including weapons, armor, enemies) and making the game feel a chiliad times fresh and immersive. The author'southward spent thousands of hours into the mod, so if your worried most a hackjob for enemy placements, in that location all very lore friendly, and united nations intrusive (there's roughly the same amount of enemies still in each area in terms of numbers) It adds then much to the game information technology'due south kinda hard to talk about or do it justice.

Yous guys should check information technology out

Oh wow, no idea this existed! I don't take remaster so hope it works with the original Prepare to Dice. Been looking for something after finishing Ashen and Bloodborne, was debating another run of Night Souls 3, but this seems to be just what I am looking for!

Any videos out at that place highlighting some of the features?
Lobo'due south did a full playthrough, only it'southward of an earlier version, and before 6.0 (which was the biggest addition)

In terms of the scale of the overhaul, it'southward quite a bit bigger then the Scholar of the First Sin changes. The folio gets gives a good overview of what it does.

To give ya'll a practiced idea of the sheer magnitude of major changes this has, i'll bear witness you lot this. It'due south a new item you commencement with

The Contract of Cathia . It's basically enables an optional difficult way (ala the Champions Covenant from Dark Souls 2) that increases enemies toughness, damage, and smartness, enables special crimson phantom, but offers a bunch of unique rewards.

Cool mod, biggest problem with Remastered was it didn't add any cutting content or change much at all.

Hmm.. and then it'due south like Scholar from DSII but it's a mod. There's also a downside, you can only meet other people who use this mod online.

I'll keep this in mind when I'm about to replay the game later.

Wow, fantastic work. :)

Out of interest, is there all the same a mod for the remastered version which changes back the appearance of the blaze to that of the original? Same question applies to the fog gate, souls, flame furnishings and general lightring.

Tried it out until the Depths.

Half HP (wow, much artificial difficulty, very nice)
Enemies are more bullet sponges than earlier. (wow, much artificial difficulty, very prissy)
Non at all that different from the original game, so far. A few items here and there, one enemy extra/less here and at that place.

Overall, it sucks ass. Just like the original game.

To be fair I have seen a fair amount of "overhaul" mods that shift numbers effectually to a crazy caste by way of "increasing challenge". I always got the feeling the mod authors were trying to make something that would be hard for people similar them who had already mastered the game.

Can anyone provide specific examples of how this mod changes the game? Less health / enemies do more harm doesn't really hateful anything to me. Aforementioned with "new" weapons if they're just sometime weapons with tweaked stats.

Has enemy placement been substantially reworked? Are there new short cuts?

Nighttime Souls has ever immune yous to make the game more than difficult past using diverse items/armor/weapons, and then I neglect to come across what cranking up the numbers accomplishes.

Dark Souls has always immune y'all to make the game more hard past using various items/armor/weapons, so I fail to run into what cranking upwards the numbers accomplishes.

Yeah Im waiting for some more info before installing this mod. Doesnt seem clear what really inverse.

Skimmed the alter log and v6.ii refferences
fixing a Night Estus, a Follower of Velka NPC, and edits to a miracle chosen Escape Death.

It seems like fundamental parts of the games enemy placements, lore, equipment/spells, charactes/bosses etc. were iterated and rebuilt.

One-half HP (wow, much artificial difficulty, very nice)

Not at all that different from the original game, then far. A few items here and there, one enemy actress/less here and at that place.

Overall, information technology sucks ass. But like the original game.

Overall this post sucks.

Enemies stats and actor stats (as well starting equipment and gifts) are completely unchanged from the base game, which ways yous just suck. Or you enabled the Hard Mode with the item.

Enemy placement is completely different too. The boss'south have been changed around.

I don't think you even played it.

Tin can anyone provide specific examples of how this modern changes the game? Less health / enemies exercise more damage doesn't really mean annihilation to me. Same with "new" weapons if they're just old weapons with tweaked stats.

Has enemy placement been substantially reworked? Are there new short cuts?

Dark Souls has always allowed you to make the game more than difficult past using various items/armor/weapons, so I fail to encounter what cranking up the numbers accomplishes.

I already explained this. The number of enemies isn't that unlike from the base game. Placement is completely changed. For example, in the Parish, there'southward a duo of Baldur Crossbowmen at the ramparts, sniping you lot from a long range. At the 2d Bonfire spot, the crow'due south nest at present has a crossbowmen (merely the spot with the two spearmen but has i now so in some areas theres actually less enemies)

Another example is they reworked starting classes and gifts (for instance, Knight starts with spear, and you tin can choose the large ember, which is now super subconscious in the mod.) Merely some of the small additions.

Skimmed the modify log and v6.two refferences
fixing a Night Estus, a Follower of Velka NPC, and edits to a miracle called Escape Decease.

Information technology seems like fundamental parts of the games enemy placements, lore, equipment/spells, charactes/bosses etc. were iterated and rebuilt.
There'southward a new reward you get for joining Kaathe and his Dark Wraiths, the Ring of the Cursed, which enables you to use a special second set of healing, the Dark Estus (at the toll of some drawbacks)

Deplorable, I accept to inquire because I hear people say this all the time. Tin can you please spell out exactly why y'all hate the Bed of Chaos? Information technology'due south i of my favorite Dark Souls bosses. I dear that the encounter design is different from the norm and forces y'all to think about information technology in a unlike way, but more importantly, it's fascinating lore-wise and the music perfectly captures the feeling of witch's magic gone wrong.

Fixing Izalith seems similar a alpine order.
If anyone wants to know well-nigh the Izlieth rework
They removed all the headless dragons (replacing them with incremental Taraus, Stray and Capra Demons), added a agglomeration of new treasures hidden,. The lead upwards to Bed has been replaced by a horrible gauntlet of Demons (including the seldom used Izlieth fedders) but the badass office is yous're supported by remnants of Gywn's Blackness Knight Legion and information technology's basically a warzone at present.

Bed's fight got a complete overhaul. You fight the Bed in it's bug form (which is now in the center of the room), has an actual healthbar, while it uses a agglomeration of new Pyromancy attacks, and in the second stage information technology goes into it's flame tree form (and attacks with it's sweeping branches and stuff) at the aforementioned fourth dimension it fights alongside ii of it's daughters (who are ghosts and you can't attack them) Though to remainder this you get support from friendly Black Knights)

If anyone wants to come across a even so really absurd early on rendition of information technology (this was 8 months ago, information technology'southward far more polished) then you tin can sentinel the Lobo'southward stream.

I'll say. Unless yous know the reload fob, it also made sure at that place was a 99 percent take chances of dying when you got to the 2nd part. Forced deaths are bullshit.

I didnt heed Bed, but I call back people major complaint is that when you are learning it, basically every mistake is instant decease so you lot have to do that awful run back. Felt too cheap to larn
