COSTUMES:
While we will NOT hold a Costume Contest at the 2020 Charlotte Mini-Con, we do not discourage attendees who wish to attend in costume from doing so! Anybody is welcome!

We've been getting so many questions from excited Spider-Gwen fans coming to the Release Party! It's about here and we'll be your one-stop store for all things Spider-Gwen. The entire creative team for Spider-Gwen #one (and of course Border of Spider-Poesy #2) volition be on hand to sign everything you lot purchase here plus up to 5 items you lot've brought with y'all. CBCS: Comic Book Certification Service will be on site if you'd like to submit your book for grading and signature certification. Married With Ocean Monsters will be performing their Mary Janes songs at intervals during the signing, and along with Junior Astronomers playing a full gear up at our After Party!

STAFF PICKS :: Border OF SPIDER-Poesy #2 :: SEPTEMBER 17, 2014

SETH'S PICK :: EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE #two: When was the terminal time any of you saw somebody cosplay as a graphic symbol who hasn't even appeared in a published comic? I didn't think that was even possible until at present. Over the by few months I've seen more and more pictures of cosplayers bringing Gwen Stacy: Spider-Woman to life. That character debuts in this week's Edge of Spider-verse #two. Then why have then many fans taken to this character then apace?

I'm certain writer Jason Latour's twist of putting Gwen in the Spidey outfit has something to exercise with it. People still love Gwen, and the thought of seeing her as a hero and not a victim is a good matter for comics. While Latour does provide some clever narrative skill in this issue, I call up the bigger reason so many fans are looking frontward to this issue is the brilliant pattern piece of work of Robbi Rodriguez. Something obviously clicked in Robbi's design and fans immediately responded, with cosplayers appearing as the character at multiple conventions around the country. I'd be remiss to not mention that my Heroes accomplice Rico Renzi provides the fine colour fine art in this issue. Rico and Robbi are frequent collaborators, and if you've seen their work on Vertigo'south FBP, you know they complement each other quite well. I've been fortunate to run into the finished product, and all three guys should accept a bow for crafting a wonderful single issue of comics. Don't exist at all surprised if we don't see a Gwen Stacy: Spider-woman series after the inevitable success of this issue.
